For some of you who remembers Margarita Mexican Restaurant, Cha Cha Cha Restaurant at Holland Village and something more old schools like Chicos and Charlie in the 90s'. You would probably head down to those place for a family style Texan Mexican feast. Burritos, Chili Con Carne, Chimichaga, and Tacos.
Beautiful and well decorated interior of El Toro Restoro Bar
Mixed Drinks like Mojitos and Sangria are the signature drinks and of course the wide selection of Chilean and Spanish wines are also available
Well, guess what? I have been visiting this new haunt along Penang Road, in my opinion, serves the best and most authentic mexican food. El Toro Restoro Bar located at Winsland Conservation House is a restaurant that not only serves mexican cuisine, but true latin cuisine. Meaning, you will have a taste of mix of Spanish, Cuban, Mexican, Ecuador and the rest of the latin region. So of the dishes that you must not miss are:
1) Chili Con Queso (Spicy Cheese Dip with Tortilla Chips)
2) Arroz Verde
3) Spanish Paella
4) Fajitas
5) Churros with Chocolate Dip
6) The Chili Chocolate Cake
I have the privilege to try my hands on making the ever enticing Chili Con Queso right in the El Toro kitchen.
Fresh Tortilla Chips (Freshly Fried)
Making of the Queso (The Cheese Deep with Jalepenos, Coriander, Tomotoes and Cream)
Finished Product for a Valentine's Day Picnic...PS. it goes very well with a bottle of Shiraz.
